Walking into Hotel Villa Provence tucked away in the heart of the charming second largest city in Denmark, Århus, feels like you stepped into Cinecittà Studios or a French village. For a country known for their minimalist design, the hotel is quite a surprise and a romantic one too.
Each room in different with eccentric furnishings many of them picked up on visits to France keeping with the Provencal style. With just thirty-five rooms and four suites individually designed the spirit is more of a boutique villa than a traditional hotel experience. It is easy to feel right at home with the friendly atmosphere extending out to the veranda among tall lime trees and cobblestones where you can enjoy a chilled Pastis in the summer or a nice hot espresso during the colder months. Breakfast is a Danish affair, full of great fresh ingredients in plenty. While it is easy to slip back in time, the hotel is fully equipped with free access to wireless internet connection.
Villa Provence creates a great escape just a stone’s throw from the lively shopping and dining district along the canal or a turn in the opposite direction will take you to the impressive art museum ARoS notable for the circular skywalk Your rainbow panorama by Ólafur Elíasson. Århus is known as the City Of Smiles, you will see many of those smiles during your stay.
